She was born on the 29th of March, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza is her birth name. Gerina Stevenson's parents include Mexican Alan Stevenson & Rita Stevenson. Her heritage is Mexican-American and is an American through citizenship. Gerina has always been a fan of sports. Gerina was a golfer in her first game at the age of fifteen. Gerina completed her high school education at Goddard High School. She was the winner of at the New Mexico State Golf Tournament during her time in high school. Along with the sport of volleyball, she played on an official level. 2003, she began studying in the University of Texas. In her senior year she won every tournament she participated in. In her undergraduate years, she was awarded the Conference USA's player of the year as well as UTEP Female Athletic of the Year.
