April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born July 4th in 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for music writing. April's first song was Different which she composed when she was 12 years old. She spent lots of time at 14 making songs and practicing music. In the following months, April started taking trips across NY and LA with her Dad to help them write songs. April featured other topics in her song"Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt with things like peer pressure and disabilities, or even teenage suicidal thoughts. Lockhart has her own fan base and works as a lifestyle blogger with the renowned Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. Born without a left hand, she is an important part of herself. But it's not the only thing she has to tell. The profile of Lockhart on Twitter does not shy away from her status as disabled, but neither does it concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. It's a reminder. The message? That we each contain multitudes, that our physical and identity selves are not all that they seem. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability will define my character. I don't intend to have an impact on disability, because I've plenty to offer." It doesn't affect my daily life. It's all normal, and I've learned to make adjustments. But it's also a part of me and I feel that it's crucial to speak about. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime however Lockhart is a true inspiration on that front. She admits that she's been through phases of her body, at times, being unsure about wearing specific types of clothes showing how much of her body. She dresses according to her preferences and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social media. Self-love, she says, is a process. "I don't think you will ever be in that place," she said. This is, however, common for anyone with doubts. It's my opinion that having those close to you who truly are aware of you and know your heart is really important since they'll be those who remind you What are you concerned about?
